WoGE: Where on Google Earth #523

Andrew presented a very nice paleodelta with subsequent erosion by the smaller modern river in WoGE #522

Going from somewhere warmer than my last WoGE to somewhere even warmer, here is WoGE #523:

As always, the first person to post the position and whatever is interesting about the geology/hydrology/geowhatever in this location, wins the privilege of hosting the next WoGE.

Previous WoGEs are collected by Felix on
his blog and a KML file.

  1. Looks not very environmental friendly. I'm on WOGE retirement until X-mas.

  2. A hint for Christmas? You get two: As Felix suggested, this is not a healthy place. Safety is often overlooked in the search of the green.

  3. Woge 523 is on the air for 2 weeks now, I think need a new one:

25.5760°, 96.2675° The Myanmar jadeitite deposits near Hpakan is the largest jadeite jade deposit in the world, producing high quality jade with the glassy imperial green. Jadeitite is found as veins in serpentinite, blocks in serpentinite mélange and boulder conglomerate of the Hpakan-Tawmaw ultramafic massif. [http://bit.ly/1QZPnJQ]
On November 22, 2015 a major landslide killed at least 116 people when a man-made heap of waste soil collapsed.

  4. Felix... thank you for solving this puzzle. I was on the right track, but unable to find the right location. Bring on 524!
